The approach

Christian EMDR therapy in Texas

Helping the nervous system finish what it could not finish at the time — so a memory stops hijacking your day. Trained Level 1, faith-integrative and attachment-focused.

Through neuroscience we know that the prefrontal cortex — responsible for higher executive functioning — goes offline while trauma is happening. That’s why simply talking about an event, from the top of the brain down, so often fails to shift it.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) works with the parts of the brain where the memory is actually stored. Rather than reliving events in graphic detail, we work in a structured, contained way that lets the memory be reprocessed and filed where it belongs: in the past.

My training is faith-integrative and attachment-focused, which matters. Attachment wounds — emotional neglect, narcissistic caregivers, abandonment — need a different pacing than a single-incident trauma, and I’ll be explicit with you about which we’re working with and why.

We never move faster than your consent. Preparation and resourcing come first, and you remain in charge of the pace throughout.

The prefrontal cortex goes offline while trauma is happening. That is why talking about it is often not enough.

The next step

One phone call. No pressure.

Fifteen minutes to ask your questions, say a little about what you’re carrying, and find out whether we’re a good fit. Nothing is decided on that call but whether to have another one.
